Considering the Ferrari 458 Italia’s huge racing capabilities, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that the GT2 won’t be the only racing version offered for the sports car. Extreme Speed Motorsport (ESM), a private racing team, has started testing a 458 GT that will compete in the 2011 American Le Mans Series starting on March 18, 2011.
In fact, EMS won’t just be running one Ferrari 458 GT, in cooperation with Tequila Patrón, the team will enter two 458 GTs into the racing series. These images, released by Scott Sharp (one of the test drivers), are the first details to come out on the vehicles. Take a closer look at them and one may notice the new exhaust system, the huge rear wing, and the modified interior. This can easily be translated into better aerodynamics and, of course, better performance. Guess Audi and Porsche may be in a little trouble this year![...]
