When BMW introduced the new M5, letting the world know that the vehicle has adopted forced induction, the happiest people in the world to find this out were tuners, who knew that the twin-turbo setup allows them to play with the car further than before.

A magnificent blast from the past gets a twin turbo setup and there’s no way we weren’t going to spread it around like wild fire. Robert Himler, creator of the titillating videos of his Underground Racing-tuned Lamborghini Gallardo, has moved on to a bigger and better project: the Lamborghini 670-4 SV Twin Turbo. The project is currently under development, but it is supposed to be ready by March 2012 and aims to be "the world’s fastest and best Lamborghini."
The biggest change for the special Murcielago will be its new RWD system, and not the AWD on the standard LP 670-4 SV. Himler opted to remove the front differentials, half-shafts, and torque tube - all of which allowed for a 125lbs reduction of the car’s weight. The secondary cats and muffler were also removed and the weight was then reduced by 89 lbs. The next part of the transformation was the addition of a pair of turbochargers resulting in an output of more than 1000 RWHP, blasting the standard 670 HP out of the water.[...]

Following on from yesterday's official presentation, BMW has published the first video on its M Performance range that launches in Europe with the M550d xDrive Sedan and Touring, X5 M50d and X6 M50d models, all powered by a new 381-horsepower, 3.0-liter tri-turbocharged straight-six diesel.
Prepared by the Bavarian firm's M division, the new M Performance models blend M Sport styling cues with M tuned engines and chassis components ? and yes, we did notice that there are a lot of M's there.
