BMW 1-Series F20 by AC Schnitzer

What would the 2011 Essen Motor Show be without the participation of some of Germany’s homegrown tuning companies?

Fortunately, we won’t have to answer that question because at least one of those tuning companies will on-hand to present their new tuning programs. BMW tuner extraordinaire, AC Schnitzer, has prepared a couple of cars for Essen, with one being a modified 1-Series F20 hatchback. Coming to the party packed with styling and performance upgrades, AC Schnitzer’s "ACS1" program certainly belongs on the big stages of Essen.

The exterior and interior of the car were both given some fancy dress-ups. For the former, the changes include the addition of a new front apron and a new roof spoiler to go along with some special graphics on the sides of the car and a choice of either 18" or 19" alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the interior of the 1-Series F20 received a bespoke gear knob that comes with or without a digital gear display, aluminum pedals, a new handbrake handle, custom floor mats, and an aluminum cover for the i-Drive system, among other things.[...]

Porsche Cayman R1 by Delavilla

The Porsche Cayman hasn’t been getting a lot of love from tuning companies recently so the work done by French tuner Delavilla not only gives the Cayman some due recognition, but it also succeeded in blowing us away. We didn’t know that the Cayman R could be this sexy, so a lot of props go out to the small French tuning house for making it work. Saucy, indeed!

Putting aside our bulging eyes and salivating mouths, the Porsche-exclusive tuning company outfitted the Cayman R with a comprehensive exterior make-over, to go with a number of performance upgrades customers can choose from.

First off, the wide bodykit that was added to the Cayman R has turned the Porsche sports car into a real head-turner. The front and rear bumpers added some dimension to the sports car, as did the new fenders and side panels. In addition to that, LED daytime running lights were also installed to keep it up to the times, while a new set of multi-spoke wheels and bespoke quad tail pipes were fitted to provide some extra steam to what is already looking like a smokin’ hot ride. As for the interior, Delavilla added a new pair of sport bucket seats and plenty of Alcantara trim on both the steering wheel and the gear lever.[...]

Ford Mustang GT Velocity Edition

German tuning company, Velocity, has always been a fan of American muscle cars and they’ve made quite a reputation as one of the up-and-coming tuners on the other side of the pond. At the 2011 Essen Motor Show, Velocity will be on hand to live up to these expectations with their latest tuning project, one that involves Ford’s very own Mustang GT.

Dubbed the Velocity Edition, this returned Mustang has been given a pretty unique and distinctive individualization program that features a plethora of customizations. The first thing you’ll notice is the new vented hood, as well as a new trunk lid that appears to have been made using high-quality carbon. Other prominent additions on the Mustang GT include new KW coilovers that allow for precise setting of the ride height and adjustable for rebound and compression, a new set of 22" Giovanni ’Martuni’ wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires, and finally, a new and bigger set of brake discs to ensure shorter braking distances for the American muscle car.

At the heart of Velocity’s program for the Mustang is the engine modification, significantly bumping up the output of the muscle car. By installing a new Roush compressor unit, Velocity was able to drive up the output of the car’s 5.0-liter V8 engine from 412 horsepower all the way up to 519 horsepower. On top of that, the tuning company also installed a new muffler unit, a new shifter lever, and an improved digital gear display.[...]

AC Schnitzer ACS6 CoupeA bit earlier, we showed what AC Schnitzer can do the the BMW 1-Series F20 and it is now time to see what the German tuner has to offer for the 6-Series, with this program also set to debut at the Essen Motor Show.

Dubbed ASC6 Coupe, the tuning kit starts with an ECU remap and a rear silencer finished in chrome for the 650i, which brings the V8 unit's power up from 407 to 540 hp (we'll remind you that the M5 delivers 560 hp), allowing the coupe to complete the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint i... [...]

AC Schnitzer BMW 1-Series F20We've just tested the new BMW 1-Series F20 and we were pretty curious to see what a tuning project could do for this. Well, we'll get our answer at the upcoming Essen Motor Show, when AC Schnitzer is set to reales an aftermarket package for the vehicle.

The story starts under the hood (of the diesel engines, for now), where ECU remaps and new exhausts systems bring the 118d from 143 hp to 171 hp and the 120 d from 184 hp to 210 hp. The list of tech mods also includes a lowered sport suspensio... [...]

Delavilla Porsche Cayman R1It's not often that we get to see French tuning houses take on German sports cars, so when we stumbled upon the Delavilla-prepped Porsche Cayman R1 it immediately captured our attention.

One of the lesser-known tuners from France, Delavilla was established in 2007 and focuses exclusively on Porsche models currently offering complete programs for the Cayman and the 911 coupes. The company says that it is also working on tunes for the Speedster, the Cayenne SUV and the Panamera saloon, with more details to be released at a later date.[...]
