Ferrari 458 Italia on Pur WheelsIt's pretty difficult to visually tune a Ferrari 458 Italia and get it right, as the supercar offers just the right mix of ingredients to make your mind go wild as it comes from the factory. However, the situation dramatically changes when you throw in a set of custom rims, which not only change the looks, but also bring a bit of extra tech value to the car.
Case in point with the adjacent images, which show a 458 sitting on PUR Design rims. The supercar has been fitted with a set of 1NE whee... [...]

Ford Mustang GT by Webasto

The "Fallen and Wounded Soldiers" Ford Mustang GT by Webasto is a special muscle car that was the result of a collaboration among some of the world’s foremost Mustang tuners. But more importantly, this Mustang was born to raise awareness and money for The Fallen and Wounded Soldier?s Fund (FWSF), a non-profit organization focused on helping service members with medical costs, transportation, and other financial assistance.

In building this special edition Mustang, Webasto sought the help of some of the best tuners around, and knowing the nature of this build, a lot of companies answered Webasto’s call.

There were a number of new styling touches done when building and re-touching the exterior of the Mustang, including the addition of a new front fascia and grille from Roush; new side rockers and a rear lower fascia from 3d Carbon; a Hollandia 322L spoiler sunroof, hood struts, and new paint from MRT; a custom Fallen & Wounded Soldier graphics on the bonner of the muscle car; and a new set of 20" Modulare Forged, custom 3-piece wheels. Inside, the Mustang was likewise treated to a plethora of modifications beginning with an extensive leather treatment from Katzkin, as well as a new gauge pod from Ford Racing and Auto Meter gauges.[...]

Mercedes SLK-Class by Vath

Fresh off of revealing their new tuning program for the Mercedes CLS 63 AMG, German tuning company Vath is pulling the wraps off their latest work: a comprehensive program for the 2012 SLK-Class.

The visual improvements done on the new SLK roadster include a new carbon front spoiler, a bootlid spoiler, a new rear diffuser, AMG-style tailpipes, and a new set of 20" tinted wheels with upgraded brake discs and calipers. Inside, Vath put in new aluminum sport pedals, Vath floor mats, and a modified instrument cluster, among other things.

For all the goodies that come with the aesthetic and aerodynamic modifications, the biggest part of Vath’s tuning program for the SLK includes power upgrades for all the engines in the SLK’s range, with the SLK55 AMG being the only exception.

The SLK200, with it’s 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine, received a noticeable bump in output from the standard 184 horsepower to 210 horsepower and 229 lb/ft of torque with a new top speed of 150 mph.

Then there’s the SLK250, which is powered by a 2.1-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 204 horsepower. After the Vath power upgrade was put in, the sports car received an increased output of 244 horsepower and 265 lb/ft of torque with a top speed of 155 mph.[...]

Ford Mustang Pegasus by Goolsby Customs

The 2011 SEMA Auto Show was undoubtedly a Mustang and Camaro free-for-all with tons of tuning packages for both models. Most were for the current generations of each, but there were some tuners with an eye for a classic, and Goolsby Customs was one of them. This tuning firm understand that an oldie is still a goodie so they based their "Pegasus" package on a 1971 Mustang.

The problem with trying to modernize a classic is that, most of the time, there isn’t much left of the original once the transformation if complete. In this case, the Pegasus has received a compete makeover. The old chassis has been replaced with a new one from the new Fast Track Mustang designed by the Roadster Shop. The front has been shortened by six inches, while the rear end has received a pass-through spoiler. The car has also been given a new set of Nutek wheels combined with Wilwood brakes.[...]

Chevrolet Derelict Business Coupe by Icon

Tuning firm, Icon, arrived at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show with two impressive packages based on two classic cars. The first was the Ford Icon Bronco and the second is this 1952 Chevrolet Business Coupe. At first glance, you’ll immediately notice that this vehicle is not all about sparkle and shine like the rest of the beautiful cars at SEMA. Then again, this is the exact look the tuner was going for.

Icon’s Derelict project is all about keeping the car’s original patina and making it functional once again by making minimal changes. It features an Art Morrison chassis, a completely reworked suspension, and will sit on a new set of wheels offered by CNC Machining Steel. The interior was also dressed up with buffalo and alligator covers for the car’s seats. That part of the project stayed true to the minimalistic approach taken by the tuner, but the engine swap clearly does not. The Derelict Business Coupe has received a new 6.2 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 430 HP.[...]

Ford Icon Bronco

The Ford Bronco was first launched onto the market in 1966 where it reveled in 30 years of production, until being discontinued in 1996. But after 15 years of non-existence, the Bronco has come back with a specially customized unit at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show.

The tuned-up Ford Bronco is the product of Jonathan Ward and famous Ford designer, Camilo Pardo’s hard work. The two men wanted to maintain the original Bronco’s classic aesthetic and design values, while also reinventing everything about the car down to the smallest details.

The Icon Bronco uses a 2011 Ford Coyote 5.0 liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 412 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque, more than doubling the original Bronco’s output of 200 HP. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and an Atlas II part-time four-wheel drive system.[...]
