Chevrolet Performance is opening its gates for customers who literally want to get their hands on one of its engines. In other words, you can build your own LS7 or LS9 powerplant.
However, since we're talking about outputs of 505 and 640 hp, respectively, you wouldn't want to get anything wrong, would you? Well, Chevy also has the answer for that, as the company allows sutomers of LS7 and LS9 crate engine kits to come to its Build Center in Wixom, Michigan, where they are assisted by GM engin...[...]

With the exception of the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro, sports cars - modified ones, at that - are considered the life blood of the SEMA Auto Show.
Pick-ups and SUVs are slowly gaining ground, but when it comes to sheer level of interest, sports cars are right up there with the two American muscle cars. This year, the SEMA Auto Show will be presenting plenty of mouth-watering examples of how sports coupes can be modded into pieces of automotive heaven.
In this list, you’ll find a lot of variety. American sports cars. Japanese sports cars. Korean sports cars. And there’s even one from the Philippines, believe it or not.[...]

Weren’t we just talking about all those 1,000-horsepower American sports cars a few days ago? In case you need more proof of that, here’s another mind-bending example: A Chevrolet Corvette C6 that was worked on by Late Model Racecraft to push out 1,600 horsepower. Built in collaboration with LMS and D2Forged Wheels, this berserker of a sports car could very well be one of the most powerful Corvettes you’ll find anywhere in the world.
This Corvette already has an impressive 6.2-liter V8 engine under its hood, one that produces 430 horsepower and 424 lb/ft of torque. Apparently for some people, those figures are just not worthy of their time. So they did what any right-minded tuning shop would do: tune it up to their standards.
The result is a Corvette C6 that carries a twin-turbocharged WarHawk motor, resulting in a dizzying output of 1,600 horsepower. We’ll repeat that in case you got confused: 1,600 horsepower.
And if that wasn’t extreme enough, Late Model Racecraft made sure to give the Corvette the look to match its output, courtesy of a Z06 widebody kit and a new set of 19" (front) and 18" (rear) three-piece D2Forged VS1 wheels.[...]

Another of Lingenfelter’s modified Chevrolet Camaros has been penciled in to attend the 2011 SEMA Auto Show, earning more proof that the Chevy muscle car is definitely one of the favorite aftermarket tuning subjects.
This newest piece of work comes fully dressed in a Stealth clear Black paint finish with matching Fire red stripes from Wanda Paint. You only need to take one look at this creation to fall in love with it. Add a Lingenfelter Signature Series body enhancement package and a custom set of Lingenfelter Forgeline wheels wrapped in Nitto tires to the equation and the already mesmerizing muscle car gets even more dazzle and spunk.
But while the aesthetics are already drool-worthy, Lingenfelter’s work on this Camaro is best seen under the hood. With a supercharged L99 engine to work with, the American tuning firm added a Magnuson TVS1900 intercooler, a new fuel pump voltage booster kit, a Roto-Fab high-flow air intake, and a Corsa stainless steel exhaust system. In the process, the company was able to squeeze out 550 horsepower and 550 lb/ft of torque. Do the math and the increase from the standard stock’s 400-horsepower and 395 lb/ft of torque numbers is downright impressive.[...]

The 2011 SEMA Auto Show is hours away from opening and we’re finally getting a good look at some of the custom projects that have been prepared for the show.
For Renown Auto Style, this year’s SEMA participation marks the first time the company has ever attended with a car in tow. And for their first appearance, they picked a car that can catch attention the moment it arrives.
There’s something to be said about the appeal of the Lamborghini Gallardo considering it’s been around for a while now. The program, which is being billed as the R70, involves plenty of new aerodynamic modifications that RAS built completely from scratch without compromising the Gallardo’s already-beautiful aesthetic design. Both the front and rear bumpers carry unique designs that RAS built with careful attention paid on the certain parts of the Gallardo they had to work around to maintain the design integrity of the Italian supercar. All told, RAS added a bevy of aerodynamic features on the Gallardo, including new front and rear bumpers, an aggressive new rear wing, and a new set of custom-sized wheels. Take a good look at the Gallardo R70 and you’ll immediately notice the differences. The bumpers protrude further out, making for a more aggressive stance and a sleeker overall profile.[...]

Less than 24 hours before the doors open at the 2011 edition of the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Show and Kia Motors has revealed a pair of tricked concept models that will make their debut in Las Vegas.
Both the Rio 5-Door Surf and the Forte 5-Door Hockey were built in partnership with Antenna magazine.
Starting with the 2012 Rio, the surf-themed tuning project features a sunset-metallic golden-brown paint along with a custom body kit with a front splitter made of wood that matches the surfboard on the roof, and rear fascia with center-mount exhaust. A set of 17-inch three-piece gold wheels and a Thule roof rack that holds the surfboard complete the look.[...]
