Scion xB by 686 and Scion RacingWe know that snowboarders are the kind of free-spirited people that enjoy the simple thrills of life, but even they would probably rather be caught dead than ride this piece of work of a Scion.

As with many cars that are headed to the SEMA Auto Show, some are there to impress and some are there to, well, "attract attention." Guess which category we think this Scion xB belongs in?

To be fair, Scion claims that the xB Numeric is a car that has been "re-created, re-invigorated, and re-developed in such a unique manner." To that, you’ll find no qualms from us.

Among the many eye-popping features of this very interesting ride begins with a 686 Breathable Fabric Wrap, a roof that was inspired by a Bern protective carbon fiber helmet, complete with the company’s patented brim technology and ’frameless’ windows that took its design cues from Dragon’s APX frameless goggle, offering a full peripheral view inside the car. Other exterior modifications include a new 686 Vader Vent Mesh Grille and set of 18" Motegi Rally Wheels wrapped in New Balance Wet Race Tires.[...]

Cadillac CTS-V Le Monstre by D3 Group

The days when 1,000 horsepower cars were nothing more than myths and figments of our imagination are long gone. These days, they’re bringing thrown around like water balloons on a hot summer afternoon. Okay, it still doesn’t happen as often, but you get the point.

Over the past few days, we learned that two Cadillac CTS-V Coupes headed to the ultimate showcase of automotive excess, the SEMA Auto Show, will serve notice to the aftermarket industry that these bad boys are not be messed with. We already covered the V1000 Martin a few days ago so now it’s time for us to introduce the ’Le Monstre.’

As the work of the "D3 Group," the CTS-V Le Monstre takes its name from the 1950 Cadillac Coupe Series 61, a car that competed in the 24 Hours of LeMans way back when in the 50’s. Fast forward six decades later and the namesake will surely make its predecessor proud.

This Cadillac sports coupe was named ’Le Monstre’ for a reason, and that reason takes shape through a heavily modified 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine that was turned into 7.0-liter engine with matching upgraded internals. The result is a powertrain that packs a walloping 1,001 horsepower and 1,000 lb/ft of torque. Ay, caramba![...]

Chevrolet Camaro ZR1 by Hess Motorsports

We often associate the quality of a tuning build by the amount of work done by an aftermarket company on a certain car. Using that logic, the boys over at Hess Motorsports did a hell of a job on a Camaro considering that they apparently spent close to $400,000 in research and development just for this car alone.

Some people will call that ridiculous. We call it genius mixed with very, very deep pockets.

Nothing was apparently off limit for this one-off muscle car. We found out that Hess Motorsports left no stones unturned in turning this Camaro into a rollicking piece of madness on four wheels. The exterior was painted with a custom Jet Black finish that was custom brushed with 1st generation strips and cleat coated four times over with high-end clear coat. Hess Motorsports also added a new front bumper, grills, side gills, and shaved doors, to name a few of the body modifications done. Even the interior was spent on lavishly, complete with CTS-V Recaro seats, interior Porsche leather, their custom one-off Double Din that was crated from the Cadillac DTS, and HVAC controls with a Pioneer Navigation system.[...]

There isn’t much doubt on whether or not the new Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang will steal the show in Las Vegas. There will be enough tuning projects representing each muscle car to inundate the rest with numbers alone. One non-muscle car standout, however, will be the Hyundai Genesis Hurricane SC. We’ve talked about this project before, but with its 450 HP and its stunning good looks, the Genesis will most likely make visitors forget all about those muscle cars for a little while.

The Hurricane SC will also get some help from another customized Hyundai Genesis Coupe, but this time by Rhys Millen Racing (RMR). Previous experience with this tuner has shown us that they really know what they are doing, so they’re announcement about having "something extra special planned" for Las Vegas is scintillating news.[...]

IND Green Hell BMW M3This piece of news is dedicated to an example of a American tuning for a German machine, with Chicago-based aftermarket specialist IND releasing an updated version of its Green Hell BMW M3 Coupe.

The vehicle was initially brought to life after a trip to Germany, which, of course, included a visit to the Nurburgring, with the project being a tribute for the famous German track, as BMWblog writes.

So, what does this green machine bring? It comes with series of motorsport-inspired aerodynamic... [...]

Ford Mustang Producer by Ring Brothers

The Ring Brothers are staples of SEMA in large part to the many classic and restored Ford Mustangs they’ve shown over the past years. This year, the dynamic tuning company is back with a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback called the "Producer".

Dressed in a BASF Glasurit 90 Line Waterborne Paint BASF paint finish, the "Producer" was restyled with a number of Ring Brothers’ own accessories, including the hood pins, the door handles, and the taillight bezels. The classic Mustang comes with a full steel chassis with tubular A-arms working as front suspension and Watts-link suspension on the rear.

Aesthetically, the "Producer" also makes use of a new, fully custom wide-body kit that comprises of a carbon fiber roof, a carbon fiber hood, extended rockers, a 4130 full roll cage, and a set of 18" (front) and 19" (rear) Forgeline 3-piece wheels wrapped in Michelin tires. Inside, the "Producer" is treated to a one-off dash with a custom interior, details of which have yet to be revealed.[...]

Scion iQ Pit Boss Cartel by Cartel

Cartel has been a fixture in the auto scene for the better part of the last 15 years, so when you’re in the discussion of an aftermarket company that knows what it’s doing, they’re right up there at the top. That’s why it wasn’t all that surprising when Scion came looking for companies that can build a special edition iQ that would rock the SEMA Auto Show, they knew who to call.

To give the iQ a distinctly Cartel-ian look, Cartel went ahead and chopped off the roof and sealed the doors. In their place, the company added a one-piece welded rocker and side panels, as well as a custom glass front window and custom metal fabrication on both the exterior and interior panels. Cartel also fitted the car with an AccuAir Suspension and E-Level air management package included SNAPON toolbox drawers and tools molded into the car’s rear bumper before dressing it up with 18" (front) and 19" (rear) Lorenzo WL028 wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes 4 tires with Wilwood Dynapro brake calipers.

Meanwhile, the interior of the iQ was given a massive overhaul, one that carries the style and influence of Cartel. The seats were treated to a black carbon fiber and Orion Grey finish, as were the door panels, which incidentally carry some blasting speakers. There’s also an iPad in the front dash, a tire rack and roll cage, an Autonet Mobile WiFi, a 12V and 110V power charging station, and Scosche wiring and Interface modules.[...]

Mazda MX-5 Spyder

Generations of gearheads have come to fall in love with the Mazda MX-5 Miata for its combination of drop-dead good looks, punch-power performance capabilities, and overall affordable price. That’s why the model has been one of the most consistently popular lines in the industry for the better part of 20-something years.

At the 2011 SEMA Auto Show, Mazda is set to reveal the MX-5 Spyder, giving us even more reason to bat our eyelashes at the iconic Japanese roadster. Mazda opted to tease these photos without so much as giving any information about it so we’re left to our senses to see what kind of package the hot stuff sports car has.

Judging from the photo, it appears that the MX-5 Spyder was given an automotive diet of sorts. The lowered suspension, combined with the new set of larger Brembo brakes are both in the spirit of what a track-version MX-5 Miata could be packaged in. Add that to the sexy silver-and-red finish, a soft and skimpy top where the normal folding roof used to be, a low-lying spoiler, a bigger central intake, and cooling ducts for those front brakes and you have a car that’s ready to stretch its legs on a race tarmac real soon.[...]

Scion tC Gruppe S by Dynamic

Taking a break from the Scion iQ lovefest at the 2011 SEMA Auto Show is this Scion tC that was built and designed by Dynamic. Called the ’Gruppe S,’ the aftermarket company was able to bring a sprightly tC coupe and turn it into a race-ready sportster that’s primed and ready for some tarmac action.

The exterior modifications include a KW 3-way race coilover suspension, a carbon hood and carbon trunk from Seibon, a front carbon splitter and GT wing from APR, a 5-axis lip spoiler, a one-piece roof from Papadakis Racing, and a set of 18" Hankook wheels with a TRD Big Brake Kit. As for the interior, the upgrades include Recaro SPG Hans seats with Sparco race harnesses and a custom-built 6-point race cage.

Under its hood, Dynamic added a GReddy turbo kit and a front mounted cooler to the Scion tC’s 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine, spiking the coupe’s output to unimaginable heights.[...]
