German based tuner Gemballa is known first and foremost for the personalisation of Porsche cars, something it has been doing for 30 years with notable examples including the Avalanche, based on the Porsche 911, the Tornado, based on the Cayenne, and the Mirage GT, based on the Porsche Carrera GT.
Now, the famous tuning company is venturing into motorsports with its newly formed racing division headed by Gemballa Supervisory Board director, Marco Marquardt.
Surprisingly, Gemballa Racing won't be using a Porsche for its motorsport debut as the company announced today that the new team will enter two McLaren MP4-12C GT3 cars in the 2012 motorsport season.[...]

German tuning company, Vorsteiner, has earned quite a reputation for being one of the foremost tuners of Bentley, Mercedes, Porsche, and BMW models. However, on that list, and the many other brands it has worked on, there’s a conspicuous absence of Italian cars.
Until now.
For the first time in the company’s illustrious history, Vorsteiner is working on a supercar from Italy, one that calls itself the Ferrari 599. The first dalliance between the German tuning firm and the Italian automaker has turned into a shining example of what the former is entirely capable of with just about any vehicle it customizes.
The final product is called the 599-VX, which takes elements from the 599 GTB Fiorano and combines it with characteristics derived from the 599 GTO and the 599 XX. The full breadth of details surrounding this program will be unveiled in a week’s time, but it’s worth noting that the package includes, among other things, a new front end, hood, side skirts, rear deck lid, rear intake panel, and a rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. This eight-piece body kit is entirely made of carbon fiber while a new set of lightweight wheels forged from aircraft-grade aluminum adds even more flair to the 599-VX’s profile.[...]

The 2012 Audi RS3 Sportback might look the part of a ’ho-hum’ car on the outside, but rest assured, it’s got some serious horses lurking waiting to be bumped up by the right tuning house. Fortunately, German tuner B&B is up to the task, offering not one, not two, not even three, but four stages of performance upgrades for the RS3.
The first Stage upgrade takes the RS3’s 2.5-liter turbocharged, five-cylinder engine’s standard output of 340 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque up to 410 horsepower and 413 lb/ft of torque. Not content with that? Well, B&B has the Stage 2 upgrade for you, further bumping up the output to 425 horsepower and 428 lb/ft of torque. Then there’s the Stage 3 upgrade that boosts up the output further, hitting 450 horsepower and 442 lb/ft of torque.
You would think that those upgrades are already enough, but B&B is far from finished. For the price of ?15,950 - that’s about $23,000 based on current exchange rates - the German tuner will provide a larger turbocharger and a high-performance stainless-steel exhaust system that brings the RS3’s total output to a mighty impressive 510 horsepower and 501 lb/ft of torque. With this upgrade, the RS3 can now hit north-to-60 in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph.[...]

German tuner Piecha Design has introduced a new package for all SL R230 models starting at the March 2008 facelift. The might be a new SL coming soon to replace the aging beast, but there's no reason that aftermarket specialists can't breath new life into the current design to keep it relevant a bit longer.
The kit offers special build-in housings with LED daytime lights and the fog lamp. They can be sent to you in a ready built kit state and fit both the serial bumper and the AMG bumper of t... [...]

This year's edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas is a still long way off but some tuners have already begun teasing their custom creations.
This strange photo of an unnamed project car appeared on a dedicated SEMA show page on Facebook. There are no details about the build other than it will appear at the show in first week of November.
While it's evident that the five-door hatchback model sports the face of the Chevrolet Cruze, we're not sure about the body (and no, it's not the Cruze hatch). If you have any ideas or thoughts, skip the jump and head over to our comments section to share. [...]

The ever continuing dialogue regarding the future of electric cars has drawn a fine line between the believers and the skeptics. But we’ve learned this year not to sleep on EVs just yet, especially when you have cars like this 1981 Camaro and the Volkswagen Beetle Black Current proving that EVs are the real deal.
The latter has already shown that it can blast off a quarter-mile time of 9.51 seconds, an astounding number for a car, let alone an EV. And recently, this 1981 Chevrolet Camaro by Team Haiyin EV Racing called the "Warp Factor II", managed to pull off a similar feat, clocking in a quarter-mile time of 10.08 seconds at the Lebanon Valley Dragway while hitting a top speed of 127 mph.[...]

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is a car that needs no presentation. Every Mustang fan has been impressed by it ever since Ford announced it back in March and most consider the engine’s standard 440 horsepower and 380 lb/ft of torque to be just perfect for a muscle car.
That being said, Hennessey has found a solution to improve it even further, despite the fact that the Mustang Boss 302 is about as awesome as any Mustang can get nowadays. In any case, the whole package revolves around the performance improvements on the car. At the heart of it all is the installation of a new supercharger system that boosts the output of the muscle car by over 600 ponies, which is to say that the rich just gets richer.[...]
