As their name obviously suggests, Classic Recreations is an American tuning company that specializes in taking the iconic cars of yesteryear and turning them into modern models. Their creations feature the latest in today’s technology mixed in with original and classic looks. The company’s latest project doesn’t deviate from that description as the team over at CR has taken on the task of building the legendary 1965 Shelby G.T.350.

Classic Recreations did plenty of work on the car at their facility in Oklahoma, including a complete restoration work on the car’s body while also outfitting it with today’s technology. It’s a car that will definitely cater to old-school aficionados, as well as modern-day torque twisters. Sure, it won’t come cheap - the base price is $119,000 - but anybody knows there’s a certain price to be paid for speed, power, and nostalgia. The Shelby G.T.350CR has all three of those qualities wrapped in one awesome package.[...]

The tuners at Wheelsaandmore seem to be on top of their game today, releasing one enhancement kit after another. The latest to join the pack is the so-called SLR 7o7 Edition, as it is affectionately nicknamed by the guys behind it. And there is a reason for that designation too.

Specifically, it comes from the standard 707 horsepower and 915 Nm of torque the supercar now develops thanks to a larger compressor and an ECU upgrade.

Starting with an original 1965 or 1966 Mustang, the tuner updates the car with modern mechanicals and a 7.0-liter V8 engine.[...]

The new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a heart-stopping, adrenaline-rushing machine packed with a 550 HP LSA 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine. Anyone would be crazy to turn it down, but when Hennessey takes the wheel and manipulates even more power from this engine, the car becomes an unstoppable force suitable only for the most experienced driver. Meet the five engine updates - HPE600, HPE650, HPE700, HPE800 and HPE1000 - that will take your Camaro ZL1 from "standard" to unbelievable.

The first and "tamest" package from Hennessey is the HPE600. This base version offers an output of 610 HP at 6000 rpm. Next to the mild power increase, this package also provides an HPE cold air induction system, a supercharger pulley upgrade, an HPE engine management calibration, and, of course, Hennessey HPE600 badging on the exterior.[...]

The Audi R8 GT has been getting a lot of face time this week - thank Audi’s "R8 GT Week" for that - and the news just keeps on coming.

German tuning firm, Wheelsandmore, has introduced their latest take on the powerful Audi supercar featuring a few styling makeovers, an improved performance set-up, and a swanky name - the Supersport Edition - that hammers home all the changes that came with it.

As far as the visual details on the car, Wheelsandmore limited the changes to a new set of 20" matte black coated lightweight wheels wrapped in Continental Sport Contact 5P tires to go with a new remote-controlled hydraulic lift system that can add 40 mm to the supercar’s ride height. The seemingly bare changes on the car’s detailing is more than made up for by an impressive performance upgrade that features a new electronic set-up and the addition of a handcrafted, stainless-steel exhaust system that’s 40 lbs lighter and comes with its own remote-controlled valve flaps. With these modifications set-up on the car, the output from the 5.2-liter V10 engine has spiked from the standard 560 horsepower and 398 lb/ft of torque all the way up to 611 horsepower and 431 lb/ft of torque.[...]

Throughout the many years the Corvette has been in existence, it has maintained its reputation for being a classic sports car. Each generation has passed, adding more power and an altered design, but what happens when you want to take a classic Corvette and give it a modern twist? This is where a dedicated team can step in to restore and upgrade the veteran vehicle into the masterpiece it was intended to be. Now, there have been plenty of restored and upgraded vehicles in our time, but this particular project stands out because of the particular vehicle undergoing the transformation: a 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster.

The updated and restored Corvette took three years to complete, but the final product is a vehicle that stays true to its history. The custom Spectrum turquoise vehicle is all Corvette - not leftover parts from random sports cars - and is even powered by a modern Corvette LT1 Generation II 350 that develops an impressive 420 HP (an impressive update over the first generation 283 HP), mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission.[...]

Japanese tuner, Wald International, is taking one idea and turning it into about 20 with its ongoing Black Bison tuning packages. We’ve seen this package added to all kinds of vehicles, from the Lexus LX570 to the BMW 5-Series F10 and back to the Lexus LS600h. It’s a regular dark-as-night themed soiree at Wald International and the next vehicle to be invited is the new generation Mercedes CLS-Class

As the name of the package suggests, the Mercedes CLS Black Bison is all about the black, inside and out. Aside from that, the CLS also gets upgraded with LED daytime running lights, sport front fenders, side skirts, a rear bumper with LED brake lights, new exhaust tips, and new trunk and roof spoilers. The package sits on a special set of wheels painted in black with a design specially created for the new CLS.[...]

The tuners at Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) simply enjoy take American cars and squeeze even the last drop of juice out of them, so their latest project does nothing but reinforcing that idea. Specifically HPE turned their attention to the 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, which they tweaked to offer insane performance.

ABT Sportsline, the German tuning company that has long specialized in modifying anything produced by the Volkswagen Group, has released details on its upcoming program for the new Audi Q3 small crossover.

Cosmetically, the tuning house has developed a bespoke front grille, a new front bumper with larger air inlets on both corners, rocker panels, a rear apron that makes space for the quad tail pipes, a roof spoiler and carbon fiber trim splats.[...]
