Until Audi brings out a sportier version of the smallest Q model yet, giving the little crossover speedy credentials it doesn't deserve, the tuners at ABT Sportsline have gotten to work and created a whole new look for the Q3, giving interested customers the chance to have a power boost from any of the diesel or petrol variants.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R is always ready for a race with its four-liter six-cylinder boxer engine delivering a total of 480 HP and its six-speed sequential gearbox that transmits the power to the rear axle, but what happens when a racing team grabs hold of it? The short answer is, well, nothing really. Why would anything need to be changed when this new racer delivers 40 HP than the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S and only weighs roughly 2,645 lbs? What can happen, though, is for racing team, MRS (Molitor Racing Systems), to restyle the Porsche and enter it into the ADAC GT Masters at Red Bull Ring on August 12-14, 2011.

With the help of "car wrapping specialist" Cam Shaft, MRS has completely wrapped the Porsche GT3 R in a matte blue foil with red and black accents to help the race car stand out above the rest. The freshened up look is still coupled with the standard GT3 R’s roll cage for added protection and its driver-focused cockpit. These items go well with the new GT3 R’s easier handling and drivability.[...]

Vesuvius may remind some people of the Italian volcano that destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in AD 79, but in the automotive world, it reminds us of Project Kahn. A few years ago, the British tuner created a tuning kit for the Range Rover Sport called the Vesuvius which provided a duo-tone exterior paint job, as well as other tweaks to the exterior and interior. This package has led to a special edition 2012 Vesuvius Edition Sport 300 that, according to the tuner, "erupts with elegance." The price for this special edition is £69,875 - or about $115,000 at the current exchange rates.

The special edition Vesuvius is painted in the same metallic black with "Vesuvius" matte orange roof stripe and bonnet stripe as found on the original package. The color combination extends to the black rubber sidesteps with an orange edge, the quad exhaust system finished in black, the front extended lip spoiler in orange/black, a grille insert in orange, and Kahn RS22" black alloys with orange stripe.[...]

The countdown to the Frankfurt Motor Show is beginning to heat up with each passing day as more and more auto brands and tuning companies are coming out with their offerings for this year’s event.

The latest tuning firm to introduce their Frankfurt-bound project is German tuner, Irmscher. Having established a reputation as one of the best aftermarket companies for Opel vehicles, Irmscher will be bringing their new customization project for Opel’s resident hot hatch, the all-new 2012 Astra GTC.

To begin with, Irmscher’s new Astra GTC program features styling cues that include a new front apron, redesigned upper and lower grilles, new side sills, a large roof spoiler, a new rear diffuser, and a choice of several alloy wheels that measure up to 21". The car’s interior also gets a few minor improvements, including a fresh leather upholstery and aluminum trim and pedals.[...]

By almost anyone's standards, Audi's R8 with the Lamborghini-derived 5.2-liter V-10 is a fast car. The engine puts out some 525 horsepower and 391 ft-lb. of torque, which is enough to get the R8 V-10 Coupe from zero to sixty in 3.7 seconds, or 3.9 seconds for the R8 V-10 Spyder. Top speed on the coupe is said to be 196 miles per hour, which is annoyingly-close-but-just-shy-of 200 miles per hour. If you're lucky enough to own either version of Audi's 5.2-liter equipped R8, it's easy to understand why you'd want to make it just a little bit faster.
