The crew at Edo Competition have announced a modest tuning package for the BMW M5 (E60) Touring.[...]

The German tuner Edo Competition is usually focusing on models from Ferrari or Lamborghini, but this time they came with the M5 Dark Edition - a 555 HP BMW M5 wagon that wants to prove that even family cars can be fun.

The most important part of he tuning package is of course the engine update. The tuner is offering a recalibrated ECU, high-flow air filters and catalytic converters as well as a newly developed high-performance exhaust system that will increase the engine’s output from 500 to 555 HP and the peak torque from 384 lbs-ft to 413 lbs-ft. Also, after removing the speed limiter the car can hit a top speed of 190 mph. The 0 to 60 mph sprint is also made 0.5 seconds faster (4.2 seconds).[...]

The E92 M3 is the only M vehicle that has stayed true to the division's naturally aspirated legacy, with all the other extreme bimmers having become followers of the turbocharging religion. A beat-up, burnt Porsche 996 is a sight for sore eyes. To put it plainly, the finest in German engineering doesn’t deserve to be treated like this by an engine fire that rendered it virtually catatonic.

Fortunately, LS1tech forum member "1dirtyZ" has come to save this particular 996 from the jaws of a junk shop incinerator. Taking the completely destroyed 996, 1dirtyZ bought the Porsche sports car to give it a complete make-over, one that specifically involved changing the powertrain and putting in a General Motors LS1 V8 engine to replace the 996’s old 3.6-liter H6 engine that produced 316 horsepower. With the LS1 V8 engine, the Porsche 996 is looking at a new output of around 345 horsepower and 350 lb/ft of torque.[...]

America’s Independence Day is just around the corner - it’s July 4th, in case you didn’t know - and instead of celebrating the day with the typical fireworks and barbecues, Project Kahn is hoping Americans will take kindly to their new "Patriotic" package based off of the 2011 Kahn Range Rover Sport. The British tuner hasn’t done much to the original tuning package, but is offering it with red, white, and blue exterior paint options.

Aside from the patriotic tri-color palette, Project Kahn’s version of the Range Rover Sport comes with a new lower front bumper and a rear low valance. Customizable options include a floating or striped roof - painted in a color, style, and even flag of your choice. For the interior, the tuner is offering a never-ending array of color options, including our good ol’ stars and stripes. Customers can even opt for a diamond studded clock bezel. The package also includes personalized door handles, LED strip lights in the front arches, rubber side steps, calipers, rear spoiler, rev counter, speedo, time clock, stainless steel door entry sills, and a quad exhaust system.[...]

BMW’s new X3 has been on sale since the Fall 2010 and, surprisingly, not many tuning firms have paid much attention to the SUV. BMW is typically a brand that sits right at the top of the list for many tuners, so owners of the X3 are probably scratching their heads wondering when it will be their turn to get in on the tuning action. Have no fear, AC Schnitzer is finally here and have brought along a package for the SUV that will prove that the wait was worthwhile.

The German tuning firm’s first bout with the X3 shows a striking front spoiler, a new rear roof spoiler, AC Schnitzer protective film for the rear skirt, and a new set of 22" wheels offered in either BiColor or silver.
