We fully understand the sense of irony with the name Romeo Ferraris and the cars that they work on, but nevertheless, it doesn’t take away from the quality of work they’ve done over the years.

Fresh off their works on the Smart ForTwo, the Abarth 500, and the Audi RS6, the Italian aftermarket company is turning its attention on a pair of high-powered German SUVs in the form of the BMW X5M and the BMW X6M. In this instance, Romeo Ferraris prepared a conversion kit for both the X5M and the X6M, and the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine they come in. The first step of the kit involves reprogramming their ECU systems, bumping up the output to 604 horsepower and 574 lb/ft of torque - up from the standard 555 horsepower and 501 lb/ft of torque it comes in. The next step after that is mapping and adding a pair of optional central terminals and sports matches. This upgrade further bumps up the SUVs output to a staggering 655 horsepower and 638 lb/ft of torque.[...]

Although roughly a year away from launch, Chrysler has published the very first official photo of a development mule of the next generation Dodge Viper undergoing testing in the snow. The prototype mule is based on the now obsolete 2010 Viper that was discontinued in the summer of 2010.

Not surprisingly, the Auburn Hills-based automaker released very few details on its upcoming high-performance sports car as the only piece of information we get is that ?SRT engineers expanded the development scope for the next generation Dodge Viper to include stability control tuning for the first time.?[...]

On paper, a race against a Japanese buzzsaw called the Cadillac Escalade SUV and the ’Godzilla’ Nissan GT-R, doesn’t seem like a fair fight, especially when you consider that the ’fight’ is actually a 0-60 mph test to see which vehicle can hit the mark first. On one end, you have the Japanese buzzsaw called the Nissan GT-R, a car that has earned the nickname, ’Godzilla’. Can a three-ton SUV whose hulking mass is enough to drag itself down compete against the faster GT-R? Hennessey has made sure of it.

This mismatch was given a fair shake by the folks over at Hennessey, which gave the Escalade an HPE1000 performance upgrade, getting the 6,000lb SUV’s 6.2L engine a total of 1008bhp at 5,900rpm and 967 lb-ft of torque at 3,700 rpm. This was done with a forged & balanced 427 cid LSX engine, high flow cylinder heads, a Hennessey HPE1000 camshaft, an intake manifold upgrade, upgraded fuel injectors, an upgraded fuel system (pump, lines, and Rails), twin ball bearing turbochargers, and much more.[...]

The Top Marques Monaco isn’t just for luxury and super car automakers to display their newest creations; no, this event gets its fair share of tuning projects too. One project blindingly taking center stage in Monaco is this Audi R8 V10 by MTM. The German tuner took special care to prepare this sports car, S.W.A.T. style.

The Audi R8 V10 S.W.A.T Edition by MTM is based on the firm’s latest Biturbo version of the R8 that features a 5.0L V10 engine delivering an impressive 777 hp. This is just enough power to sprint the MTM R8 from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, from 0 to 124 in 9.37 seconds, and allow it to hit a top speed of 217 mph. This special Audi R8 V10 S.W.A.T Edition features a 100% chrome wrap combined with a S.W.A.T theme. Considering S.W.A.T stands for Special Weapons and Tactics, we’re thinking the Audi could be the team’s special weapon.[...]

Aftermarket company, Callaway Cars, prides itself on building ?powerfully engineered automobiles? that are systems-engineered for the 21st century. Flowery words aside, these boys definitely know how to get things done, especially when it comes to their work on the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro.

While there seems to be a proliferation of tuned-up Camaros in the market today, Callaway was able to differentiate itself from the rest of the pack with their new SC572 package. The program consists of both aerodynamic and performance upgrades, highlighted by an engine package that takes the Camaro?s 426-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8 engine with a peak 420 lb/ft of torque all the way up to 572 horsepower and 541 lb/ft of torque.[...]
