US-based tuner Platinum Motorsport has done a remarkable job in their years as one of the finest American tuning company?s. And if there ever was doubt about the capabilities of these guys, then this two-and-half minute video, which they appropriately called ?Epic?, will squash all that skepticism away faster than the time it takes for your jaws to drop on the floor.
The video features six vehicles that have all passed through the hands of Platinum Motorsport, including the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, the Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series, and the Bentley Continental Supersports. Through our eyes, these cars are some of the finest aftermarket works we?ve seen and catching all of them in one video taking a tour of the streets of LA together is just about the very reason why the word ?epic? was put in the dictionary in the first place.[...]

German tuner, Je Design, is out to prove that even hybrid models can be cool when given the appropriate upgrades, and one of their favorite models - the Volkswagen Touareg - seems like a good place to start. Their latest package is for the Touareg Hybrid and includes both exterior and engine updates.
The aerodynamic kit includes a new sports radiator grill, front spoiler, front and back wheel arch kit, rear apron insert, roof spoiler, and rear hatch. Rounding off the package is a new set of 10x12 inch aluminum wheels, back and front. The wheels are available in three different finishes: shadow silver with a polished front surface, matte black with a matte silver front surface, and matte graphite silver with polished rim.[...]

Well, that didn’t take long now did it? The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 isn’t even a month old yet and German tuner, DMC Design, has scooped one up and added its own touches to make the supercar even more spectacular than it already is.
The first tuning package for the Aventador is called "Gargiulo" and includes a few exterior modifications that further tweak the exterior of the supercar. For starters, a new Carbon Fiber rear wing has been added that takes its design inspiration from a mixture of the Sesto Elemento and the LP670 models. The new wing can be had in a glossy or matte surface finish. DMC is also offering a new front lip, corner spoiler, and side skirt to add more of an aggressive look to the vehicle. Of course, that’s kind of like adding more water to the ocean, but we still like the overall result of their additions.[...]

Shortly after becoming the official supplier for ECU upgrades, aero kits, brakes, exhaust systems, and a few other modifications for Saab models on the US market, Hirsch Performance is getting to work with the beginning of what we’re sure will be a long list of tuning projects for the Swedish automaker. The first project unveiled was the 9-3 models shown at the Chicago Auto Show, and the next is this tuning package provided for the 9-5.
The name for the package comes straight out of the power behind it. Hirsch Performance has taken the 2.0T Turbo4 engine found in the Saab and equipped it with direct injection, a modern twin scroll turbocharger, and improved charge cooling. The result is a total output of 260 HP and a peak torque of 295 lbs-ft. Thanks to the twin scroll technology, the throttle response is also significantly faster. The 40 HP increase is accompanied by a new top speed of 155 mph.[...]

There are tons of reasons why tuning firms decide to provide packages for various cars on the market. Aside from the obvious money-making aspect of the business, tuners feel a certain responsibility to take what an automaker has done and push it further. Most of the time, we understand that these vehicles need a bit of work to make them that much better and we applaud the various efforts provided by these tuning companies in doing so. This latest project by EDO Competition is no different. In their latest attempt to push a car deeper into the realm of awesomeness, the German tuning firm has taken a Koenigsegg CCR and fixed it up with a good ol’ fashioned power boost and a kickass exterior body kit.
EDO’s process with the CCR began with a modified ECU to boost power and a modified drive ratio to allow the vehicle to hit its torque peak earlier. The result is a total of 891 HP - up from the standard 806 HP -, and a reduction in the redline to 7,200 rpm. The six speed gearbox was disassembled in its entirety and the plastic bushings were replaced with Uniball units. All of the work to the engine allows the CCR Evolution to get to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, to 124 mph in 9.7 seconds, and to 186 mph in 23 seconds.[...]
