In the wide world of automotive tuning, there?s something to be said for UK tuner Merdad and its penchant for producing new body kits for a number of Porsche vehicles, the most recent of which was a program for the Porsche Cayenne. Now the tuning firm is at it again with a new program for the Porsche 997 Turbo S. Called the 997 650-R SS, the modification program comes with a number of new body parts, including a new front spoiler, new side skirts, wider wheel arches, a new rear bumper, and a set of new alloy forged lightweight wheels that was created exclusively for Merdad.

Further details behind the new tuning program are limited as of the moment, but you can be sure that these guys spared no expense in building and designing a program that befits their reputation, as well as the stature of all their past works. That being said, we’d love to see what they have done with the Porsche 911 Turbo’s supercharged flat six boxer engine because, well, we’d expect them to get a lot more than the standard 530hp and 516 lb/ft of torque. If the title says anything about the output - which we hope it does - maybe we are looking at 650hp Turbo?[...]

American tuning firm Hennessey has crafted some pretty insane vehicles over the years. One of its most recent tunes is based on the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon, which leaves GM?s factory with a 556-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 lump, but once Hennessey?s engineers perform their magic under the hood, output is lifted to 650 horsepower. To show off the[...]

We?ve only reached the middle of March, but we?re already beginning to think that if there ever were an award for ?Breakthrough Tuner of the Year?, the British tuning company, Amari Design, would run away with it. In the six weeks that they?ve come to our attention, Amari Design has already released three strong tuning programs: the Lamborghini Gallardo Invidia Edition, the Range Rover Windsor Edition, and now, the Bentley Continental GT Evolution.

The last of these projects is their latest offering, which is made all the more impressive considering that we didn?t even know these guys existed when the calendar struck 2011. For the Continental GT, Amari Design gave the car’s exterior a number of modifications, including a new front bumper, lip spoiler, a new hood, fenders, side skirts, panel extensions, a new rear bumper, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and exhaust. All these components were made from high-quality plastic and carbon fiber. Inside the car, you’ll find plenty more improvements, including re-upholstered seats using Alcantara and Nappa leather and carbon fiber trimmings on the dash paneling.[...]

ABT Sportsline has released details on its first tuning operation performed on the latest generation Audi A6. The German aftermarket specialist proposes a series of power upgrades and a fairly cosmetic make up with various aero parts and new alloy wheel options. Starting with the diesel tunes, the ABT Power package adds 37 ponies to the[...]

When the Hennessey CTS-V Sport Wagon squared off against the Porsche 911 Turbo, some complained it was the slightly older 911 Turbo. Fair enough. Here's the 650 hp wagon against a Nissan GT-R. [...]

Now that the Geneva Motor Show has come and gone, we now head back to the real world with nothing but good memories from a highly successful event. The rush from Geneva was understandably high; so we kind of expected that the next couple of days would consist of a collective exhale from the entire auto industry before moving on back to work.

Thankfully, French automaker Renault and tuning firm Superchips are keeping us on our toes with the release of a newly modified performance program for the RenaultSport Megane 250.

Our love for sports hatchbacks notwithstanding, Superchips? ECU remapping of the RenaultSport Megane 250?s engine is something that we definitely took notice of. The program, which will be available for any Megane 250 model sold from 2010 onwards, will give the car a performance boost of around 49 horsepower and 66 Nm of torque. As a result, the Megane 250?s R26-sourced 2.0-liter engine?s power output jumps from 250 horsepower and 304 Nm of torque to just a shade under 300 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. Even more impressive is the fact that despite the performance boost, the Megane 250?s fuel efficiency numbers will remain at 33 mpg.[...]

Welcome to the tuning world, EDS! Unheralded, small-time, and maybe even a little known to a lot of us, the German tuning firm recently caught our attention for the work they did on turning an otherwise mundane Opel Astra into some piece of work.

Combining a powerful performance upgrade with a few aerodynamic touches, EDS? tuned-up Opel Astra Turbo has become the personification of a lion trapped in a deer?s body.

Make no mistake, the Astra?s stock 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 180 horsepower is no slouch by every definition of the word. But when you add a comprehensive engine tune-up that includes a new Garret GT28 turbo-charger, a new sports exhaust system, a new manifold, and an ECU optimization, then you get a car that bumps up its overall output to an incredible 360 horsepower and 354 lb/ft of torque.[...]

We know what you?re thinking but stop right there. What you are looking at here isn?t the result of some crafty photoshop business - it's the real deal; an actual factual microcar replica of a 1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R coupe that was created by Japanese tuning firm Liberty Walk Performance. The scaled down, single-seater clone of Nissan's[...]
