In a long hard effort to elevate its sporting image, the Lexus brand has once again teamed up with American tuning firm Five Axis to make over its newest entry-level luxury hybrid model, the CT200h.

Lexus will be showing off a wilder CT 200h prepared by parent company Toyota's tuning partner Five-Axis at the upcoming 2011 Chicago Auto Show, which runs for the public from February 11 to 20. Remember the Hamann Victory revealed back in 2007? Well, the tuner is now ready to bring out an updated version of that package with the Victory II based off of the latest Gallardo LP560-4. This newest package includes engine upgrades as well as exterior and interior modifications, but the best part is that it looks as menacing as it does in its matte black attire.

Since the new Victory carries the same name as the original, one would think that many of the same additions would still hold. Well, one would be wrong. This new tuned up Gallardo features some distinct characteristics that it can call its very own, including a new front apron, new side skirts, a newly designed rear wing, and much more. A power boost is also new to Hamann’s latest plaything with a jump of 20hp from the standard Gallardo engine.[...]

 

 

A California based tuner by the name of ARKYM revealed a new tuning kit for the BMW M3 Coupe. So, what do you think, can Americans tune German cars? We say, not this time, as this is one of the ugliest vehicles we have seen. That begin said, ARKYM did an excellent job with the M3 Aero, but this overall look is just wrinkled-up nose disgusting. For the sake of information, let’s go over some of the changes.

What ARKYM typically likes doing with its projects is combine quality products and unique ideas to create "original, brand name, products at a fair and competitive market value." This particular package includes an Aerorace Hood ($1,999), Aerorace trunk boot lid (a single side carbon priced at $1249 and a double side carbon priced at $1699), Aerosport front lip ($549), and Aerosport rear diffuser ($449). As expected, carbon fiber is used all around with each piece being 100% form fitting.[...]

Over here in the good ol’ US of A, people are gearing up for one of the biggest auto shows of the year, the Detroit Auto Show, but spin the globe around and we’ll see that there is another show that deserves a good amount of attention as well. Over in Japan, the Tokyo Auto Salon will begin in less than a month to bring us some of the hottest tuned up machines we’ve seen, and the star of the show will obviously be the new Nissan GT-R.

Bringing the sports car to the forefront of the crowd is Axell Auto, a tuner who, until now, specializes in tuning Toyota van models. How they switched from vans to a beautiful sports car is beyond us, but we’ll take it anyway[...]

 

 

Hennessey Performance revealed today the official details on the Venom GT supercar. Based on a Lotus Elise, their kit will be limited to only 10 units, 4 of them already being ordered.

The Venom GT is powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter LS9 V8 engine, same used in the Corvette ZR1, that delivers a total of 725 bhp. And if this is not enough for you the tuner will also offer 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin turbo V8 engine variants. With a curb weight of less than 2,400 lbs, the Venom GT will hit a top speed of 200 mph.[...]

 

 

Brabus has announced an impressive tuning package for the Mercedes S350 BlueTec equipped with the Euro VI exhaust emission standard. Thanks to a ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit, the model delivers an extra 54 HP and an extra 70 NM of torque.

The ECO PowerXtra D6S kit’s performance increase depends on the selected shift mode of the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission. In ?Eco? mode the maximum power output of the engine remains unchanged, but the peak torque jumps from standard 457 to 509 lb-ft. Upon switching to ?Manual? or ?Sport? mode, the increase in torque is accompanied by an increase in maximum power output from 255 HP to 308 HP at a low 3,600 rpm.[...]
