Hamann released the Volcano package for McLaren Mercedes SLR about nine months ago, and although it faced some serious criticism regarding its boy-racer looks they thought it’s a good idea to bring it up again, this time in a red theme specially designed for the 2009 IAA. Apart from the design, it is an engineering marvel and it’s even faster than the original SLR 722 by 11 km/h!
The source of power in the Volcano Red is a modified version of SLR’s supercharged V8 engine. With some modifications including a newly programmed control unit, especially developed high performance exhaust manifolds and an amended belt pulley combination for the serial compressors, it now checks out 700 hp and torque of 830 Nm!
The result of this much power is definitely blistering performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and maximum speed of 348 km/h.
Hamann also had to re-program the computer which controls gear changes to make it compatible with the new engine setup, and also installed a new water pomp. The Volcano, even if you don’t look at it, is distinguishable from normal SLRs because of it’s crazy sound! It comes with six mufflers on each side of the car rather than the regular four.
The SLR Volcano Red is fitted with Hamann Edition Race 21 inch wheels with 255/30ZR21 tires at the front and 345/25ZR21 at the back.

The Fiat 500 Abarth has certainly caught the attention of the tuning world in Europe. Making its world premiere at the '09 IAA in Frankfurt, the Hamann Largo is one of the most impressive tuning proposals for the Fiat 500 Abarth yet, putting to shame the official 180HP+ Ferrari-badged Abarth 695 special with its heavily modified 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that makes a jaw-dropping 265 horsepower at 5,630 rpm and 348Nm pr 257 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. Pretty impressive if you consider that the base model makes a mere 135HP and 206Nm.
Hamann has yet to disclose performance figures, but we reckon that 265 ponies in a car the size and weight of the Fiat 500 should a spectacle worth seeing - don't know about driving though...

Mansory presents the Cyrus package based on the Aston Martin DBS or the DB9. The Cyrus emphasises masculinity and power with its newly designed front skirt with enlarged air inlets, the carbon fibre wing extensions and the newly designed rear skirt with an integrated diffuser. The two slotted power domes on the carbon fibre bonnet send extra air into the 12 cylinder engine. Completing the picture are the stainless steel tailpipes attached to the sonorous sport exhaust system.
The car squats on large 9x20 front and 10.5x21 rear ultra-forged rims wrapped in 255/30ZR20 front and 295/25ZR21 rear Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres. The coilover suspension has been adjusted to lower the centre of gravity and improve road holding.
Mansory's definition of luxury extends to the interior where tailor-made carbon fibre parts are found. They include some bits from the dashboard, the centre console and the re-designed steering wheel. Foot pedals are made of aluminium while the door sills and head rests feature embroidered CYRUS logos. Hand-stitched leather covers the seats, parts of the dashboard and inside the door panels.

Brabus shows what happens when performance tuners tackle underpowered urban cars. The Brabus Ultimate R is a turbocharged, 112 horsepower version of the Smart ForTwo.
The three-cylinder OEM engine that comes on the car is also tuned to push out up to 150 Nm of torque, which helps the car reach a new 0-100 km/h in a more respectable 9.5 seconds. Top speed is now limited to 170 km/h (106 mph), but the thought of driving a Smart Car at that speed is frightening, to say the least. Other performance upgrades include a new sport suspension, which lowers the car by 30 mm, and more rigid shocks.

The announcement was clear: "It is very important for Corvette, to offer the strongest, most high performance and best sports car in terms of handling in the USA." With these words the former chairman of General Motors Rick Wagoner set his engineers a clear goal around two years ago, which also included trumping the Dodge Viper SRT10, which was shown at the Detroit Car Show shortly before, in all regards.
The technicians got to work and so the next year the persons responsible were able to proudly unveil the quickest and highest performance series vehicle ever produced by General Motors: the Corvette ZR1.
Under the sheer endlessly long bonnet of the ZR1 lurks a newly developed LS96.2 litre small block V8 with compressor supercharging. Pressurised by the Eaton R2300 compressor with up to 0.72 bar, this primitive engine gets up to 647 HP and a maximum torque of 823Nm.

Refining super sports cars is more than just business for the company HAMANN Motorsport. Their passion for detail, for something special and unique is the main incentive for extraordinary modifications. The latest stroke of genius once again confirms this. The HAMANN interpretation of the Ferrari California with its exclusive and extensive refining programme does not only make the hearts of real Ferrari fans beat faster.
Most of all, the car body kit proves that HAMANN does not only focus on changing the visual appearance. Apart from design elements such as a bonnet made of carbon fibre, specific modifications at the front, sides and back boost the aerodynamics. Thereby, the front spoiler reduces the lifting forces of the California which significantly improves the handling and agility. Moreover, the unobtrusive side skirt set calms the airflow between both axles. And moreover, a back spoiler increases the contact pressure. Here, the HAMANN engineers agreed on a small wing profile which considerably enhances the car body design. As the combination with the perfectly integrated and three-part rear diffuser renders enough grip for the road. Mainly on country roads with many curves, the HAMANN aerodynamics kit unravels its power and generates pure driving pleasure.

The Ferrari Enzo with its 660 horsepower is arguably one of the most exclusive cars in the world, both in terms of its driving dynamics and purchase price. Those looking for something considerably faster and more exclusive choose the edo Enzo XX Evolution.
A bump in displacement from 6.0 to 6.3 liters, new camshafts, new titanium valve spring retainers and connecting rods, modified cylinder heads, new high performance exhaust headers, high flow catalytic converters, mufflers and air filters: that's the scope of edo competition's engine modifications. The standard hydraulic tappets are replaced with newly developed solid tappets, enabling the 12 cylinder engine to rev to an incredible 9,600 rpm. This is unmatched by any other 12 cylinder engine at this time! Additionally the intake system of the V12 was modified, a new high performance clutch - available with „strada" or „pista" friction pads - and a more powerful oil pump were installed. The power output is increased by 180 to 840 horsepower. Without mufflers more than 860 horsepower is possible. The maximum torque of 780 Nm (575 ft-lb) is available at 5,800 rpm.

ABT Sportsline is making its presence felt at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a very small way. The tuner has unveiled its littlest car in the Volkswagen Polo. The base is the new fifth generation car and while changes are visible, some are actually not. Like the power figures.
ABT has taken the factory 1.6 TDI and given it several choices of power. The 55kW (75hp) motor now makes 66kW (90hp) while the 66kW (90hp) goes up to 81kW (110hp). For the 77kW (105hp) model power is increased to 96kW (130hp). Not even the smallest 1.2 TSI could be spared ABT treatment as it goes from 77kW (105hp) to a preppy 96kW (130hp).

TECHART is celebrating the world premiere of its individualization program for the Porsche Panamera models at the IAA 2009. The first phase of the TECHART program includes, among other things, exterior components for improved aerodynamics and a striking appearance that is typical of TECHART, 21 and 22 inch light metal wheels, a multifunctional daylight running light system, as well as extensive options finishing the interior.
“Personality knows no compromise – this is our understanding of high-quality automobile finishing. We implement this one-to-one with the Panamera and in the process combine well-trained aesthetics with discrete elegance,” emphasizes Thomas Behringer, CEO of TECHART Automobil GmbH. The program for the Porsche Panamera Turbo will be shown at the IAA 2009.
