A new remap of the engine control unit (ECU) of Ford's European market 1.6-liter EcoBoost petrol engine by British tuner Superchips promises to lift output from 20hp to 34hp, depending on the application.

 

Superchips' upgraded ECU can be used on the 1.6-liter turbocharged unit found on the C-MAX, Grand C-MAX, Focus, Galaxy MPV, S-MAX and Mondeo models covering the 150PS (148bhp,) 160PS (158 bhp) and 182PS (180bhp) variants of the range.[...]

In the 1960s two of the big three, Chevrolet and Ford, each had their own secret weapons in the form of racecar drivers turned muscle car builders. Ford had the recently deceased Carroll Shelby modifying Mustangs for SCCA use and sale, whereas Chevy had the late Don Yenko modifying a wide array of their muscle cars, the most popular being the Camaro. Yenko also ran multiple Chevy dealerships where the bulk of his creations were sold.

In 1967 and 1968, Yenko was dropping 427 cubic-inch monsters from Corvettes into Camaro bodies and creating some of the most powerful Camaros of the era. One of Yenko?s crowning achievements came in 1969 when Yenko was tired of selling Camaros with limited warranties because of his modifications and convinced Chevy to add a 427-equipped Camaro to its special equipment ordering system, known as COPO.

This addition of the 427-equipped Camaro to COPO made it possible for Yenko to sell these cars with the GM-standard 5-year or 50,000-mile warranty. Yenko ordered a grand total of 198 of the Camaro 427s available from COPO. The total number of COPO Camaros produced and sold is unknown, but has been rumored as anywhere from 500 to 1,000.[...]

Usually when someone says Kahn Design, we automatically think about updated Land Rover models. This time, however, the British tuner is changing things up a bit with a new package based on the BMW X5. This particular model is priced at £23,875 ($38,300 at the current exchange rates), but any customer who owns a 2007+ X5 can order the Kahn package for £2,150 ($3,450 at the current rates).

On the exterior, the most impressive changes are the new Kahn Design RSL wheels in Silver Palladium Finish. Next to the new wheels, the package also includes new front and rear bumpers, wider wheel arches, a sports lowering suspension, and Liquid Red brake calipers.

The interior includes stunning quilted perforated leather interior seats and a Kahn glove box complete with carbon effect inserts. Customers will also get a black Alcantara steering wheel and of course, plenty of "Kahn" badges.[...]

To mark the milestone, the BMW tuning guru has introduced a special edition version of the E60-based M5 Hurricane RR that benefits from a 30-horsepower boost lifting the total output of the heavily-reworked and twin-supercharged 5.0-liter V10 from 789hp (800PS) to 819hp (830PS).[...]
