Back in 2010, pictures of a Dakar Yellow BMW M3 spotted in Southern California flooded the internet, gaining the admiration of many a car enthusiast. At that time, we wondered why BMW did not carry the striking yellow exterior finish on more of their models, but alas the German automaker stuck to their high maintenance "Frozen" finishes of Dark Blue, Gray, and Silver. Until now.
A similar Dakar Yellow package has been applied to the new 1-Series M Coupe, rounded out by a series of visual and power upgrades. The package starts off with a series of elements from the BMW Performance arm, including new seats, a new steering wheel, pedals, shifter, and carbon fiber trunk lip. Then, since this is a high performance sports coupe, carbon fiber elements were thrown in to enhance its character. The 1M Coupe received a new front lip, a new diffuser, new side valances and skirts, and a new roof, all covered in carbon fiber. For an even meaner look, the car also received new angel eyes.[...]

The Ronin Exige, aka the self-proclaimed 'World's Fastest Lotus', is a supercharged and turbocharged 680-horsepower monster. But yesterday morning it was put into the wall of California's 101. Now the owner claims it wasn't his fault — or the car's.

Modifying a high-performance model like the BMW 1M Coupe is no easy task but it's one that Germany's Tuningwerk is more than happy to accept.
What you see here is the result of Tuningwerk's efforts to create a street-legal track racer out of the M brand's entry-level model and which it calls the 1M RS.
At the heart of the car lies a heavily tuned version of the 1M's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six, which is loaded with 335-horses and 450Nm (332 lb-ft of torque) out of the factory.[...]

Anytime you have a car that can be rightfully named after the US military’s missile defense system, then you must be doing something incredible.
This 2010 Cadillac CTS-V is called the Patriot Missile, and by all indication, it does justice to that awesome nickname. What was once a supercharged 2010 CTS-V was taken in by the folks over at D3 Cadillac for some serious custom work involving the installation of D3’s own Stage 4 Tuner Power Kit.
To prep the matte-silver CTS-V Patriot Missile for the increased horsepower output, D3 Cadillac went and upgraded the car’s cooling system while also installing a new aluminum radiator with an improved core, and a bigger intercooler and intercooler pump. Add that to an enhanced supercharger, new spark plugs, new exhaust headers, and a reprogrammed ECU and you have a car that produces a ridiculous 700 horsepower and 700 lb/ft of torque.
The final touches to this rocket-like CTS-V include a new suspension system that comes with D3 Cadillac-spec KW Variant 3 coilovers, adjustable endlinks, chassis bracing, D3 Cadillac sway bars, and a new set of Toyo Proxes R888 tires.[...]

True, there are some ways to make your car's engine sound more sonorous, but there's really so much you can do for example to a Chevy Aveo or a Toyota Prius.
Furthermore, with a starting price of 99 cents, 2XCL Games' new XLR8 (get it; accelerate) sounds like a sweet bargain compared to the cost(s) of an actual mechanical component.
The XLR8 is an app available for Apple's iPhone and iPad as well as Android phones and tablets that promises to make your vehicle sound like an exotic Italian supercar, a muscle car or even a racing model.
After you download the application and place the phone in your vehicle, you simply connect the device to the audio system and you're ready to go ? just don?t forget to roll up your windows?[...]

When it comes to upgrading classic muscle and sports cars like the Ford Mustang, one American tuner that has had their share of time in the garage is Year One. This tuning firm spends their time selling parts for similar projects and building custom projects of their own to show off their skills. Their latest package, the Sportroof, takes a standard 1969 Ford Mustang and gives it a very cool modern look. The project is still in its development stages, but the first rendering revealed by the tuner shows it should be a slick ride.
The exterior of the ’69 Mustang will feature a clean upgrade package with new front and rear bumpers, a new engine bonnet, and a new set of Forgeline wheels. The rear wheels will be mini-tubbed to fit massive 345 wide tires.[...]

Ever noticed how the automotive industry keeps adding more gears to the automatic transmissions and more inches to the wheels of our car? Of course, all these have a technical explanation, but it seems like a few people in North Carolina decided to look into the future and fit a pair of Chevy Camaros with wheels that come in a... 32-inch size. We have a black Camaro Convertible and a red Camaro Coupe that roll on 32-inch rims and demonstr... [...]

According to Canadian design house SR Auto Group, just because the Scion-ized Toyota iQ is the world's smallest four seater, doesn't mean it shouldn't look the part as well. With this in mind, it gave birth to the Project Pryzm.
"This iQ was titled with the name Project Pryzm because of its sharp and boxy exterior," says SR Auto. "The objective behind Project Pryzm was to create a car that would leave you speechless."
The tuner started out with the iQ's exterior that gains a comprehensive styling kit from Japan's Premier 4509, which you may remember from the Bentley-faced Toyota Supra tune.[...]
